Invicta launches world record attempt - and a new car
The Invicta Car Company is backing Mike Newman's attempt to be the first blind
driver to top 200mph by building a supercharged version of its S1 GT car.
Mike currently holds the record with a 144.7mph run, but aims to smash it in
the Invicta on World Sight Day on October 14.
The #74,000 Invicta S1 is built in Wiltshire at the rate of just 20 each year.
It revives a famous old British marque and features in the Sunday Times
Driving Supercar Run. The carbon-bodied coupe is powered by a 320bhp Ford V8,
and Mike's supercharged S1 will form the basis of a second, uprated production
car.
