If you guys see a vaguely familiar Red Bugeye for sale on e-bay soon you will
know it is mine
I took a ride in it this weekend, to look at a tricked out Mini. 1380, weber,
286 cam, minilites, fiberglass body. This was going to be a trade. However my
trader couldn't get the car to start. But he did offer me a ride in his other
not quite a suoped mini. This one had a 286 cam also. You know what that
means? NO, as in none whatsoever, low end torque. That engine really kicked in
at
3000 revs, but you had to rock the gas pedal in idle to get it there. This guy
must go through a clutch a week. Personally I just couldn't drive the thing.
So on the way back, and it was a great day for the ride, the red bugeye
decided to lose brake fluid on I 91 in Hartford. So I did the only reasonable
thing
I could do. Just continue for a another 100 miles, up to the Mass Pike, and
down the Taconic. Couple of rolling stops at toll booths and I was in business.
Brakes are fixed, but I think the red bugeye is telling me that it really
doesn't like me.
