With the talk of rusty and sticky throttle cables, its a good time to point out that an excellent throttle cable can be found at the local bike shop. The very best is a teflon sleeved brake cable for a tandem. Tandem cables are thicker, stronger, longer. You can cut a couple of throttle cables from one.
