Yes it is BUT, so are sticky throttle shafts
and sticky pedals.
Thing is, you installed a new cable and it
worked fine for awhile, right? Or, did I
misunderstand you?
If not....
This wouldn't be the case for sticky throttle shafts or a sticky pedal
though these are definitely worth a look and
lube while "you're there". Might be part
of the problem (or just maybe "the
problem"...you never know) but in any
case preventive maintainance is an
"ounce of prevention is worth a pound
of cure" thinking...so it's a "good thing". :)
You see....
normally, if the cable is acting as an
electrical ground, it takes a couple of miles for it to become hot,
expand and
start "sticking". Most espcially so with
a new cable (fresh lubricant in there).
This period of initially
working normally becomes less lengthy over time as internal cable
lubricant
becomes "fried" (drys out:), if in fact,
the throttle cable IS unintentionally
"grounding" the electrical system.
