All I can say is that a lot of long distance
truckers use bypass filters "in addition
to". Considering oil is the lifeblood of an
engine, I think anything that increases 
it's cleansing (thus maintaining it as close
as possible to it's original makeup) can only be a good thing.
After all...
Keith Richards has his "oil" cleansed
regularly (n Switzerland I think) and
he shoulda been history decades ago,
