On the end of the gearshift lever is only an o-ring.
Do you have the original smoothcase gearbox in the car or is it a ribcase?
Many times a smoothcase gearshift lever is used on a ribcase replacement,
but it doesn't work right. Long vague throw with sort of a semi circular
pattern between 1st and 2nd or 3rd and 4th.
