"A lot of users report...." True, true
David. Same with DCOE users.

But the real culprit is improper
calibration for the application and I
really don't understand how this happened
with the "stock" Weber DVG kit (with
unheated manifold) for the stock 1500,
since Weber dynos every "conversion"
kit they put out there for each specific
application.

When I converted over to a 45DCOE on
a "stock" 1275 Midget, the Weber
Conversion kit specified worked
perfectly right out of the box.

'Course later on I "tuned" the
motor and had to re-calibrate but the
point is the "stock" kit worked fine on the
stock motor.

Same with my VW Beetle DFEV kit.
"Stock" Weber conversion kit worked
fine with "stock" 1600cc motor, right out
of the box.

Methinks the maker screwed up here some way some how. It's almost as if
the calibration (such as it is for the
1500 kit) was meant for a "heated",
rather than "unheated" intake manifold.

Very strange, though it is obvious and
apparent to me the source of the problem
is calibration in terms of the idle (and/or), progression (and/or),
accelerator pump circuits.

Well...more than one way to skin a cat
in any event, for sure, Dave! :):)

Could be, Bob, but I know that a lot of DGV runners report the familiar 'bog"
on take-off, and that it seems to run better when the timing is advanced a
little beyond specs. My manifold is unheated.
