Rear Shocks

I am considering replacing the lever arm shocks on the rear of my '71 Sprite
with telescopics.

I know one can buy the full kit for this but I am guessing that at the high
list prices quoted (in the UK) that it would be a good deal cheaper to buy the
shocks seperately.  The brackets I can fabricate in 1/2 an hour myself.

So the question - can anyone give me info on the type or part number that
works well on a Spridget?
