As regards the "flat spot" (on initial acceleration with your foot well
into it?),
what size aux venturi you running? Bet
it's a 4.5? (Note Vizard tune in this respect for a full race
1275...there's a
good reason for this).
Otherwise, you may be running into a
similiar problem as I (and Frank) have
found....the tiniest of "grains" can get
into the "progression" channels and
jets, despite what looks like an airtight
air filter (around the edges).
We get snow in these parts and plenty
of sand on the roadways over winter.
At least once in mid-winter and always
in spring, it was carb cleaning time.
I used to have to take off the DCOE and
clean it out in this respect about twice a
year (K&N) until I started using "sealing
grease" and even so, this reduced this
maintenance to about once a year (which
I used to clean and re-oil the filter, anyway).
Take a look in the bottom of the fuel
bowl and see whether you've got
ANYTHING in there besides fuel. Bet
you'll find some "solid"stuff in there. And
this needn't be from he "outside" necessarily. It can be coming from the
fuel tank/lines as well.
The Weber is a fine carb but it's tiny
channels don't take much to partially
clog them which results in erratic running
of the type you describe.
