1275 fuel pump

Quick question.Can I take the mech fuel pump off my 948 and fit it to the 
1275 engine? I got a chance to purchase a 1275 from a wreck and I see it has 
the 
hole in the side of the block(which has a plate over it) for a mech pump. I 
assume there would be a lobe on the cam to run this? The engine is from a 
Midget 
with an elec fuel pump. Any thoughts, comments, rude remarks?  Bob C in KS
