Dave...
A year and a half ago we installed a
new 48 month battery in the Frog.
Subsequently, within that period of time,
we went through burned contacts on two
gear reduction starters. At that point I
finally figured it out and had a load test performed on the new
battery...which up
to that point had only had "static" tests
performed upon it as the system was
checked after the first gear reduction failed due to burned contacts.
The "new" 48 month battery failed the
"dynamic" test.
Battery replaced, checked and haven't
had a problem since with anything electrical, including the car's 3rd
replacement (Morriservice) GR starter. This car has THREE good grounds.
You can never tell what the battery may
have gone through during shipping to the
supplier, or what accidental mishandling
it may have gone through prior to your
having acquired it.
