Mr. Muffler, a rather low-tech chain, has been getting a lot of my business
lately. They formed a "ball junction" on a piece of tubing and welded it to
the muffler. The exhaust pipe is then flared a bit and the two pieces fit
together like a a softball stuffed into the bell of a trumpet (or a
Spaulding balanced on the top of a Hilborn injector stack). Two flanges are
then sandwiched from either side and pulled together with two bolts. Voila!
Very removable and very effective. And did not cost much to have them fab.

Take it to a muffler shop and get it welded on. Doesn't cost much if that
is
all they are doing.
