A 1275 with moderate go fast goodies just sounds better than a Mazda
powered Sprite. Something about that annoying mosquito sound that makes
you want to swat at it ;)
As for a bugeye tub on a square body, I have seen it done.
The car is known as PIECES II, a friend of mine grafted a bugeye tail to
a rubber bumper midget A bugeye with roll up windows and a fold down
top. There is also a fastback hardtop for a MKIII Sprite. I don't know
who made it but I have seen it. A guy in Maryland had it (Bill Redman)
He was vending stuff at SS03.
So keep the golden dream alive, it is possible.
