Yeah--about the only way. One trick to keep from scratching your bonnet cowl
paint is to lay a single layer of blanket around it when you are mounting the
bonnet. Once you get the bolts semi tight, where you can slide the bonnet
around a bit and it is secured from scraping other painted areas, you can
remove the blanket.
