carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals(sorry everyone...forwarding this email
may have lost the
pictures from the orig email)

Some 'return' attendees probably already got this email
but for those of you that haven't, here's the info Carlisle
sent out to repeat attendees'.

There's a link to the map of the grounds layout as well.
It looks like they reversed the show field this year.
The British cars look they'll be over in front of the grandstands
this year rather than the entrance side of the field

NASS... this might make it really easy to get a groups shot
from the grandstands of the cars on the field.

Giveaway Car Drawing on Sunday for a
      1970 Fiat 850 Spyder

It was bought from the Carlisle Car Corral and has the larger 903cc
(about 55 cubic inches), rear-mounted, four-cylinder engine. That's right, all
850 Spyders had their tiny power plants mounted transversely behind the rear
axle. That's probably why the rear suspension is independent with coil springs
and semi-trailing arms, while the front gets by with a single transverse leaf
spring and lower wishbones. A long-throw shifter operates the four-speed
manual transmission and the soft top is easily retracted by hand. The
Bertone-designed body provides a most stylish way for you and a companion to
cruise down the road. If you hold the winning ticket May 18, that's exactly
what you'll be able to do.

The ticket-holder must be present to win.
      No purchase is necessary.

The Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals kick off this Friday, May
16th.
      A Great Mix of Cars
Building Y will house some of that eclectic mix of vehicles via Carlisle
Events "Invitational" display. Among the marques scheduled for display are
Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, Porsche, Saab, Subaru and Volvo. And
don't miss the one-of-a-kind WR 70 three-wheeled car.

      Great Seminars
Once again Building T will house a collection of kits and replicars (and
their manufacturers) from all over the U.S. This display is unmatched by any
show, anywhere. Again this year "Tech Seminars for Kit Builders" will be
presented by The National Kit Car Club and Kit Car Builder magazine inside Old
Car Trader Pavilion B. Experts will cover a great variety of useful technical
information on a variety of vehicles. Saturday at 11 a.m., Les "Dr.
Crankshaft" Jackson and Satch Reed from www.SecondChanceGarage.com will tell
you the dos & don'ts of vehicle restoration.

      Driving with the SCCA
Our on-grounds driving experience returns this year with the Sports Car
Club of America will conducting drivers' school on Saturday and an
autocross/time trial on Sunday. The cost is $20 for Saturday and $30 for both
Saturday and Sunday. Sign up at the SCCA Registration Tent. See the Show Field
and Fairgrounds map (PDF-329k) for the location.

      Clubs Well Represented
This show always features large car club gatherings and this year is no
exception. The Central Penn Saab Club will be out to defend last year's
highest participation award, but the Mid-Atlantic Fiero owners and BMWCCA will
give them lots of competition. So will the Citrokn Club of North America,
whose seminar this year is on the Citrokn CX, presented by Paul G. Robinson.
It takes place at the club's tent Saturday at 1 p.m. and is open to all.
Saturday at noon at the Fiero Club tent, Brad Strine of Freysinger Motors
conducts "Ask a Pontiac Mechanic."

Meeting for the British Motor Trade Association (BMTA)
      Friday, May 16th at 4 p.m.
This meeting will discuss the state of the British car business in the
U.S. today and why the BMTA was formed. It will cover areas of marketing,
supplier relationships and business tips. Finally, there will be discussion of
new and emerging markets in the British car trade. While this session is
focused on business owners, any participants in the hobby are welcomed to
attend. The association was recently formed to promote cooperation and
collaboration between businesses involved in the British automotive trade.
Currently there are about 50 members, including shop owners, parts suppliers,
and magazines and event promoters.
