Hey Gang,
Remember a couple of weeks ago, I said I'd rather take my chances with a
tornado than an earth-quake? Well, maybe I spoke too soon. I had an up close
and personal encounter with Mother Nature Saturday night in the form of a
tornado. I live in a small town called Lima, Il. that was nearly destroyed
Saturday night at 6:45 pm. by a huge tornado. It went just a block north of
my house but was close enough to pull several of my largest trees out of the
ground and top the rest of them, leaving one leaning against my back porch.
I've spent the last two days getting re-acquainted with my Stihl chain saw,
I'm having a hard time getting my fingers straightened out now. The power
just came back on about fifteen minutes ago, water is just trickling from
the tap.Still I can't complain. Many folks lost everything but their lives
just a few feet from my home. I've got my place back in shape with plenty of
help from friends and some complete strangers. I'm going to go see if I can
help some one else out in the morning, I'm sure there is still a lot to do.
Oh, yeah, Marshall Law is not something you want to try out just for the fun
of it, either. I almost wasn't allowed back into my home last night because
I was a little late getting back from eating supper.
