years ago an old client of mine who owned a garage was in and I asked him
about this. He told me never to mess with a gas tank and just buy a new one,
they're cheap. Since then I've done everything else BUT what he said,
including epoxy, welding, rubber, blah blah blah. He was right. Welding is
extraordinarily dangerous even under the best conditions, patches are
temporary if they work at all, used tanks never work out and the new tanks
arent' that expensive.
My 2 cents.
