Ah, design flaw.
to stop the corosion of the battery stand offs, I use a battery with the
terminals on the outside away from the bulkhead.
Not comcours, but no more see thru bulkheads.
I also repair these with a piece of EPDM roofing.
It makes a great battery tray and folded up the firewall seals up those
corroded standoffs real nice.
It is a torch down rubber roofing material. It insulates the battery
from any possibilitys of grounding out unexpectedly too.
Look for any new commercial roof going on, ask the guys for a scrap.
They throw out enough to do a Spridget battery tray 100 times.
Or call up any roofer in the phone book, I'm sure he has 1/2 a roll
hanging around his shop and would be glad to give you a piece if you
stopped by with a cup of coffee or a beer.
