And well you should ask, Bob....
The early ('67) 1275 blocks had a relatively "thin" lower engine
"flange"
where the sump mounts. Later engines
had a "thicker" flange for more strength.
That flange was the bottom of the engine
wall, which was as thick (or thin) as the
thickness of this flange.
And...there you have it!
