Hi Jerry,
I suspect it will make the synchros even slicker and consequently a slower
synchro action as a result. Synthetic lubricants have that effect, that is
making the synchro action worse.
These trannies have a tendency to have the detent ball springs lose tension and
break. Replacing the springs with those from a rib case do help some.
Replacing
the broken ones certainly helps too!
