Okay, I decided to go straight to the source, so to speak, and wrote to the
editors of British Car with my concerns. Here's most of the response I got.
>Here's what's happening, in very brief. We've joined the company that
>publishes Grassroots Motorsports to get more
>assets and staff resources on which to build. Our plan is to take
>British Car as the foundation and expand around it, adding more
>technical material, and yes, more racing though all vintage, plus a few
>other non-British marques. Our goal by doing this is to be able to keep
>all our British Car readers and advertisers while significantly
>increasing the subscription and advertiser base so that we've got the
>resources to be really great. Think Classic and Sportscar in
>combination with Practical Classics, but all with an American reader
>focus, and then throw in a little Vintage Motorsport and Sports Car
>International at that level of quality (100 pages to start, all in full
>color, on great paper with good covers).
>All British Car subscribers will have their subscription continued with
>the new magazine after they receive the next and last issue of British
>Car.
>If you'd like to offer your opinion on how we can make it great, go to
>www.BritishCarForum.com or www.GrassrootsMotorsports.com where the new
>Classic Autosport bboard is, and read what others are saying and add
>your opinions.
>Thanks for writing,

So, that's it, straight from the horse's mouth. We won't be losing ANY of
the content we're used to; only GAINING content. I'll reserve judgement
'til I see the first issue.
Still would have been nice if they let us know..... WITHOUT having to write
to them first.
