I personally like a switch on the power supply side.
It makes it easy to trace should you need to in the future, it makes for 
less chances of a short, and most everything else is switched from the 
hot side on our older cars.
My A40 has a switched ground for the interior lights, I still can't find 
out why they stay on when you close the door. The switch works but 
something somewhere is closing the ground switch.
