Someone asked about the Bugeye floor panels from AHSpares and how they
compare to the original. There are some differences:
1. The louver shaped drain holes in the ribs of the passenger compartment
section are missing.
2. There are no drain holes in the foot well section.
3. The front two captive nuts for the seats are missing. The rear two are
there and the front holes are there. Don't understand why they left off the
front ones.
4. The captive nut for the ground strap is missing on the passenger side
panel. There is not even a hole where the nut should be.
The shape and size appear to be right on. The inside edge of the panels
extend slightly past the spot welds of the driveshaft tunnel. The inner edge
can be cut to the same shape as the tunnel and butt welded or they can be
overlapped on the bottom of the tunnel and welded.
The section around the spring mounts will need some cutting and fitting.
For those that asked for pictures of the floor panels I will post some this
weekend.
Anyone have suggestions on how to do drain holes that will be protected from
splashes like the original floors ?
