52.7" of rear shoulder room. Admittedly not an ideal arrangement for a NY to
LA jaunt, but legal nonetheless. Haven't you seen all of the circus acts
with all of the clowns climbing out of a VW? Or was that a college thing?
Anyhow, the Golf was intended as the replacement for the Beetle, so it
should carry on that legacy. Never mind that VW decided to perpetrate an art
excercise and call it a Beetle.
Thanks for all of the responses! Now I need a grant to cover the proper
in-depth research of all of these suggestions. Properly administered, I
should never need to actually buy a car for the rest of my life ;-)
