Thanks all for your input on the mech vs electrical fuel pump question. Yes,
I have been through two Canadian pumps which I just thought were sitting on
the shelf too long before I bought them.The overhaul kits for the original
units are actually more expensive. I think for now I will stay with the
mechanical one. The one I have has a lever on the side to pump by hand which
