For $2.30 + tax, I replaced the melted connector, dilectric greased the
connection and started and test drove the car.  ( I had wedged the wire
between the connector and the battery to drive the short distance home. )
I thought that maybe it had been loose, but I'll never know, 'cause I had
never checked it.  I wasn't sure if that would melt the ( is it ) lead.
