I did mean valve *spring* binding. Thanks for pointing that out.
Most competition valve springs have a more open winding and
come as dual (inner and outer) springs to prevent the springs
from binding.

Sure you're not referring to "valve spring crush" rather than valves
binding? If you are going to reach around .500" then you might want to
look at the anti coil-bind dual springs either the C-AEA526 or C-AEA527. I
bought a set after I snapped a rocker.
