No NOT an e-mail thread! I just mentioned thread chasers in a previous post
on shock bolts. I was wondering if anyone else routinely uses thread chasers
on old hardware. I bought a nifty set of thread chasers from Sears
(Craftsman) for about $50. Has SAE and metric in a useful variety of sizes.
They are handy to use on lug nuts, which tend to get buggered up.
Thread chasers look a lot like taps and dies, but aren't as sharp. You still
use them with cutting oil. A very handy tool set to have if you do a lot of
your own work.
