WST,

A cam and crankshaft specialty shop I used before would give parts back to
me sprayed with clean motor oil and then wrapped them in Saranwrap. I don't
know if this is the best long term storage solution, but it seems OK to me.
Also, my understanding is that Cosmoline and Vasoline are virtually
identical substances, the Vaseline being less expensive. I guess if you can
get Cosmoline in a spray, that might be easier to work with though. Weren't
those "waxed" wrappers that new BMC parts like cams came in impregnated
with a Cosmoline or Cosmoline-like substance? What about using graphite
spray lubricant?
