According to no less an authority than Doug Robbins, you can leave it out in
the sun for a couple of hours, then "a couple of my guys can get it on". In
other words, it can be stretched to fit nicely after it is heated and will
hold some of the stretch after it cools down. It can't hurt to try it. In
our case, we had to explain that we were a couple of OF's who would need a
soft top only if it started raining while we were out and WE had to get it on
under an underpass if we were lucky. Eventually, we ended up with a custom
made top that fit sorta like a sock on a rooster--which is exactly what we
wanted.
