Can a generator ever "loose" it's polarization? Mine just stopped charging.
Actually, since I don't drive at night much, I don't know if it ever worked
right.

I seem to remember polarizing the generator on several late 50's cars after
they sat for an extended period of time with no battery in them........If I
remember correctly they began charging again.
It won't hurt anything to try.
