i just remembered something i was told a long time ago (easy with the
dinosaur jokes here...lol!) when discussing broken wheel studs and stripped
lug nuts.
evryone hates the factory lug wrenches as they commonly do not have a very
precision fit...right(let alone a short handle)? pay attention to the
manufacturer's lug wrench handle length! it has been calculated as to not
allow overtightening of lug nuts! yes impossible to loosen air impacted
lug nuts! they are over torqued! but if properly torqued the original
equiptment lug wrench would be just right!
some seem to think the size of the wrench was compromised to fit a tool
pouch? this might apply in some cases. but in our car's cases i think not.
if you have too long of a lever you will break a stud on spridgets(1/2"
breaker bar). and they will break quite easily too! so easily you might
suspect you have studs of improper strength installed. just be carefull
when tightening the lugs, it does not require super human strength! now if
yer changing a tire on yer pick-um-up that breaker bar is going to be your
best friend! :)

chuck.
