We just went through a tire discussion here at work and I successfully talked
the boss out of ordering KUMHOs online and opting for Michelins instead for his
Z3 (there's no substitute for Michelin as far as I'm concerned). He had
"heard" that the KUMHOs were good, but inexpensive replacements. He took the
Michelins to the dealer for mounting, and the dealer said "You aren't bringing
KUMHO tires are you?" Turns out many owners pay to get the KUMHOs mounted and
then pay again to get them removed and replaced within a few days because they
are so bad. By the way, if you have a Z3 those Michelins are awesome, far
superior to the original tires. I think he got Pilot Sports.

Glen,
The Porsche guys really like the Kumho's, say they are a very good
street/autocross tire for the price, wear well, stick good in both wet and
dry, and the belts don't come apart on hard breaking like some better known
tires (my Dunlops come to mind). One idea put forth on that list is that
they are underpriced in an attempt to gain market share. I have no idea how
they are in Spridget sizes, but they come highly recommended in the
225/50-16 size. I'm going to give them a try on the big car. Just a data
point.
