On the early cars, the windscreen frame to body seal was cut over-length and a small part (1/2" to 3/4") is tucked under the post to body rubber seal. If you look at a windscreen post, on the bottom is a hollowed out part where the windscreen to body seal and the post to body seal press up into when the whole thing is screwed down.
