For those of you who are still awake reading about the saga of Yellow Fever,
I have installed a Pacer header, Monza exhaust and have a weber that came on
the car from the DPO. I downloaded the info from Gerard's website on the
weber, which says that the idle speed should be about 1000 rpm, and to adjust
the idle mixture screw until that idle is attained. Well....my car is idling
at 1000-1100 rpm, varies just a bit, does that mean it was running rich with
the old stock manifold on it and that I shouldn't adjust it or should I still
try to adjust the idle mixture? The info on Gerard's web site also says
that I should get 30-35 mpg with the weber and headers. Prior to installing
the headers, I was lucky to get much more than 20-22 mpg. Was it running
rich before and how can I tell?
