I had vapor lock on one Sprite a few times, it turned out to be a bit of rust
blocking the gas cap vent. Popped the gas cap and the car went a few more miles,
there was a lot of suction when I removed the cap.
Cleaned the cap vent hole and it's been fine ever since. (1998)
