As usual, had no idea who Larry Pitts was or why anyone would want heated
seats, so dumped the post. Is this for your bugeye? If so, fixing the
heater will cook your socks off (probably pants too), and if all the hardware
is there, you can use clothes dryer vent hose for a $10 heater. You do warm
up your car before you take him out into the cold, cold world, don't you? If
that is where your problem is, a small all-cotton fabric pad* filled with
rice and placed in the microwave for 2 minutes on high will keep your bottom
warm long enough to get the car warmed up so the heater can be turned on.
Feeding on the body heat you don't know you're generating, it will stay warm
until you get where you are going, and probably for and hour or two
afterward. I would think that would take care of the fiercest of northern
California winters except in Tahoe, for instance.
See, a $15 solution. Now just make the car run. lol.
*If you want to get fancy, you can make a cover for the pad with a
good-looking fabric or vinyl sleeve to match your carpet, upholstery, or???
Just don't put THAT in the microwave. And don't overcook the pad. Three
minutes maximum.
