exhaust-to-axle clearance?

With the car resting on its wheels and no passenger(s) on, what is the 
minimum exhaust pipe to rear axle clearance to go for?
Right now, my springs are new, they haven't "settled" yet, and the exhaust 
is barely touching the axle...
