Have used Crane 700 and 3000 (now PerTronix) for 20 years. No problems
except initial use of PerTronix caused
by unintended installation error.
Nothing wrong with points, either; as long
as the system is "maintained".
Idea regarding having a spare
points dizzy in the boot for primarily
electronic set-ups is the way to go. I do
this. Haven't used it yet, but I am sure the
time will probably come.
