My 2 cents worth,---probably not worth that much but-------------I had same
problem years ago. My home made battery hold down bracket was loose. When I
braked hard, the battery would rock forward and short out the hot lead. The
resulting drop in voltage killed the ignition just until the battery rocked
back again. I had put an ammeter on the dash and this is how I figured it all
out. On hard braking, the meter showed big time discharge. BTW the meter was
a repro model A Ford unit which looked as if it belonged there style wise.
