that classic look

I took the rubber bumper off my 75 midget and it looks a lot like an older 
one, with the chrome grille ring and "bumper-ettes".  Has anyone tried to 
convert to the older, more classic look?  how much is involved?  I notice the 
fenders are listed separately for 75-79 but I can't see much difference.  As 
a James Dean fan it would be satisfying to remove the only crash protection 
the car affords
