DIN is a german standard - Deutsche Industrie Norm or something like that.  
Horsepower can be quoted in a number of ways including metric equivalents (eg 
PS).  Probably the engine you have in mind has a metric calculation for 
horsepower that in reality doesn't vary much from a 1.3 Spridget.  With a lot 
of Jap engines the power output isn't that much greater until you get to the 
1.6 16 valve engines and this is because while the 1.6 &1.8 engines are 
designed for economy and power or just power the 1.3 and smaller engines were 
designed for economy.
Stick to the A-series and get a 3.5 diff ratio if the engine rpm really is 
such a big deal, with or without a 5 speed.  Or fit an overdrive box.
