It would run a small blast cabinet for short periods of time. The problem would
be that the compressor would run almost constantly (depending on your air usage)
and the home model compressor is not built to do that. They have a percentage
cycle time much like electric welders. If your future model has a 10-20% cycle
time, you will turn it to junk fairly fast.
Air tools, depending on what you're using, will work fine. Impact wrenches use
little air as opposed to DA sanders which use great amounts of air.
I assume you want an oil-free model for painting? It would be lots simpler to
add the correct inline filters to solve the oil/water problems associated w/
painting.
A 22 gallon model would not keep up for painting a whole body at one time.
You'd
spend a lot of time waiting for the air. My 60 gallon tank makes me wait some
but it's not a big problem.
