I had this experience with someone, though not a co-worker but a friend.
despite all the caveats, cautions and awaremess raising, they still
expected what would amount to a new car with warranty.  Even though I did a
bunch of additional work at no extra cost to them, they were still unhappy.
...go with the office romance...'-)
