Gerard-Have you had your coffee, yet?
I love my stock 1098 and it runs very well
however, it cannot hold a candle to a
healthy stock 1275 in terms of acceleration or hill climbing abilitly
and
the more toward "square" the bore/stroke
become, the more the engine will freely
rev., all other considerations being equal.
Just look at the difference in torque between the two stock engines!!
This
speaks for itself as do the indivdual
bore/stroke figures for each engine!
The figures are "nonsense"; I think not!
The 0-60 and quarter mile time/speed
between the two in same car bear the
manufacturer's torque/hp ratings for each
engine out as well!
You must be comparing a "tuned" 1098
with a "stock" 1275 or you've driven some
sick 1275's!
And, as I said, this is coming from someone who LIKES the 1098 for it's
utter smoothness!
Perhaps another cup of coffee?

Nonsense... I recently put a 1098 in a Midget and it ran as good or better
than many 1275s I've driven. Great acceleration too. They can be good
runners too, and many people prefer them.
