It fits just fine, you have to add 2 carridge bolts in the top corners
but nobody will see them between the windshield post and crash pad.
You will need a pre 68 crash pad, pre 68 steering column and signal
switch.
The later collapsable column is not compatable with the early dash.
I have done this 3 or 4 times, PIECES is running this conversion now.
But without a 65-67 parts car to donate the crash pad, column, s/wheel,
gauges, switches, and wiring, it's a tough job. Make that expensive job.
If you have the parts, it is a 1/2 day job just swapping over parts.
Everything bolts up, you have to drill 2 holes and fabricate a blanking
plate to cover the larger steering column hole on the later car. (a
round piece of metal with a hole in it)
All the wiring can be cut and reconnected but the earlier harness is a
direct replacement and saves your existing harness from making you one
of those DPOs should you sell the car.
