Saturday night, filled up the gas tank (apparently a little too full) and
drove about 4 blocks home. Haven't driven it since b/c the car has been
blocked in by the b/f's car, and his fathers, who is visiting for the week.
It's been cold and snowy ever since until today. Went downstairs this
afternoon, and took a pretty good look at the car, everything looked ok.
Returned home about an hour later and saw James wiping the back of the car off
with water. He said the gas in the car was bubbling, and a large patch of
paint under the gas cap was bubbled off the car. Now for the questions, do I
have to have the whole car painted, or can someone just paint that part, or
the back of the car only? How much is this going to cost me? How do I make
sure they get the same color? How the hell did this happen? and what can I
do in the future to prevent anything like this from happening again? I always
wipe any spilled gas immediately off the car, so I know that wasn't the
problem!
TIA
