Hi all - Though a newbie/lurker w/ a 1275 in my MM van, I must rise to
Bryan'd defense. After a long wait, I'm thrilled w/ our PT Cruiser. After
6K miles since Oct, the little beauty has lived up to all expectations,
and, in the acceleration arena, exceeded the nay-sayers. Despite
Daimler-Chrysler's incredibly stupid misreading of the market coupled w/
some pretty piss poor dealers, this car clearly does everything anyone
could hope for. Plus, if you got one for MSRP [$20K +/- for top of the
line], you got one of the best values on the market. Outstanding fit and
finish, unbelievably intelligent interior use of space, etc. And it was
designed by a 27 year old! Some of us "older car guys" may be caught up in
nostalgic recollections of our lil deuce coupe days, but the car seems to
have hit all demographic groups with a bang. Long live innovation so we
classic car guys can live a balanced automotive life. [And who among us
will be the first to admit they already ordered a new Mini
Cooper?] Motorin' on in the snows of Massachusetts, David
