most of the repro grills out there are not exactly what you would call a
perfect fit.   if your grill is in a good enough condition to be rechromed
by a very good chrome shop that specialises in restoration show quality
plating , then by all means rechrome it!  you will be happier with the
rechromed one.  just do not let them flatten it out!  most shops are very
good at plating and polishing but they do not know what evry thing ever made
is supposed to look like and ocassionally they use a bit of artistic liberty
and make things look like "they think it should look like"  if they are not
properly informed prior to their starting on it.   just be carefull with
where you choose to send your work, get refrences from other restorers and
local enthusiasts.
