        Thanks for the many replies. My =" extension didn't fit in the square 
plug
(conveniently, I was able to drain it first, though), so it looks like I'll be
sacrificing a cheapie tool to the Dark Prince.
        Where should I look for the paper gasket? The two parts stores I called 
didn't
seem to think I was sane (paper axle seal gaskets?!? :)
